Timothy Banker

Executive Director, Hudson Civic Forum

As the Executive Director for the nascent Hudson Civic Forum, Tim is leading the effort to create a new, independent cultural arts non-profit in the Hudson Valley that will produce live performances and events aligned with the goals of our Civic Forum initiative.

Tim began his professional life as a founding member of Cornerstone Theater Company, now in its 37th year. Cornerstone, now based in Los Angeles, creates community-specific theater events featuring both professional artists and people who live in those communities.

In his 20s, Tim’s work as director, assistant director and stage manager brought him to collaborate at some of the most prominent repertory theatres in the country and his freelance directorial work included an immersive site-specific theater production in Port Gibson, Mississippi, an adaptation of the ancient Greek drama, “Antigone” with immigrant students in Chelsea, Massachusetts, and an award-winning production of Samuel Beckett’s “Endgame”.

Most recently, Tim served as the Director of Content and Production for From the Top, a media and education company that empowers and celebrates young musicians. Tim oversaw all of From the Top’s creative work including its hugely successful NPR program, its Emmy Award winning programs for PBS and over 18 seasons of live events.
